Mount Moosilauke NH Number 10 on the NH 4000 Footers list. Mt Moosilauke. Great mountain so far one of my favorite 48 4000 footers!! Moosilauke welcomes northbound AT hikers to New Hampshire's White Mountains, and the gradual ascent via the Glencliff Trail is a gracious host. Hiked on Christmas Day, Excellent trail condition, snowshoe is useless, could finish without microspicks, only the summit have a little bit of the ice. Refuel with a Honey Stinger Cracker N Nut Butter Snack Bar as it begins to fade (the peanut butter and milk chocolate ones are our favorite). Super clear at the summit with a 20 to 25 sustained NW. Beautiful day and hike! Completed in 4 hours and 14 minutes. This peak is too close to the main peak and doesn't have enough vertical above the col to be considered a separate 4,000 footer but it is still worth the short walk to the top to check it out. RSS.
