Chibnall's too big of a Classic Who fan to get that part wrong. Think about it, the phrase "the Doctor is a Timelord from Gallifrey" would become entirely incorrect. If anything, Chibnall's embraced what might be the central theme of the Moffat era: the madman with a box. It was written by Chris Chibnall, and directed by Jamie Magnus Stone. Chibnall isn't writing fanfiction here, he's changing the TV show. The Doctor got a small flash of a young girl with dark skin when the Master talked about the Timeless child, which could be a young Ruth. There's no point at all in having the Master turn good. We are not who we think, you or I. If anything, Ruth feels like an introduction to the idea of the Doctor having previous lives, to set us up for revealing the Timeless Child's identity. You're watching it. Unless he pulls off something truly amazing, I'm likely through with new episodes of Doctor Who for the foreseeable future. Whilst trapped in the Matrix, the Doctor finds out she was the Timeless Child and her DNA (and ability to regenerate) was given to a select few members of Gallifreyans, who then called themselves time lords. I prefer the Doctor as they are: basically loser originally, who BY THEIR ACTIONS actually proved themselves to others and became a hero. According to the Master, the Timeless Child's incarnations were none other than the original incarnations of the Doctor, long before the First Doctor.
